This work is an adaptation of an plein air painting on Achill, County Mayo, Ireland. Looking across at homes settled in to the hillside, open to the elements although seemingly rather joyful and peaceful.

My works are both literal and part memory part feeling. Living on the Isle of Purbeck I am constantly walking around the heathlands and nature reserves. I take pictures, sketches and note the sensations that this beautiful and magical place creates in and for me. In some way I am trying to pass this experience on to the viewer - to see and feel it through my eyes.
