'Blossom No.1'  30 x 30 cm. In Oak veneer frame (35x35cm)
 
A moment one evening in local Church grounds, I tried to absorb the energy of it, of the spring blossom in full bloom, while signifying the beginning of an abundant season it is also losing petals, the constant seasonal movement of regeneration and decay appeals to me. I find it reassuring in its fullness and eventual loss. These are a small series or works on the blossom.

My works are both literal and part memory part feeling. Living on the Isle of Purbeck I am constantly walking around the heathlands and nature reserves. I take pictures, sketches and note the sensations that this beautiful and magical place creates in and for me. In some way I am trying to pass this experience on to the viewer - to see and feel it through my eyes.
