'Spring Rains'
 
This work started as a plein air painting of the view from my garden, it was then taken back to my studio and worked on further. There was a very light rainfall that afternoon and the grasses were just starting to get taller and flourish as they do in May.

• In frame 71 x 71cm.
 
My works are both literal and part memory part feeling. Living on the Isle of Purbeck I am constantly walking around the heathlands and nature reserves. I take pictures, sketches and note the sensations that this beautiful and magical place creates in and for me. In some way I am trying to pass this experience on to the viewer - to see and feel it through my eyes.
